The problem

Buying a car
shouldn't feel
like this.

You spent weeks researching. You walked in prepared. You negotiated, signed, and drove home excited about your new car.

Then the doubt set in.

Did I pay too much? Was that trade offer fair? Is $500 off actually a good deal on this car?

The answer, for most people, is that they have no idea. And that feeling lives with them for the entire length of their loan or lease.

That doubt is not a coincidence. It is the result of a process specifically designed to keep you from ever knowing whether you got a fair deal. Dealers spend thousands every year training their teams to do exactly one thing: extract as much money as possible from every transaction. You walk in once every three to five years. They do this every single day.

GetSorted exists to change that. We give you the data, the expertise, and the negotiation so you drive away knowing you won and not just hoping you did.

Where the money goes

Here's what they know
that you don't.

A dealership has multiple profit centers in every single deal. Most buyers are aware of one. Here are the ones that cost you the most.

01
The Price Stack
The sticker is not the dealer's cost. Between MSRP and what the dealer actually paid sit invoice price, holdback, dealer cash, and regional incentives. These are layers of manufacturer-to-dealer money that never appear on any consumer document. On a $50,000 vehicle the gap between sticker and true dealer cost can exceed $6,000. That gap is entirely negotiable if you know it exists.
Typical savings opportunity
$1,500 – $6,000
02
The Lease Structure
A lease has four variables that determine what you actually pay: the selling price, the money factor, the residual value, and the fees. Dealers mark up the money factor above what the manufacturer sets and pocket the spread, exactly like a mortgage broker marking up a rate. Most buyers never know the base rate exists. A $30 per month markup over 36 months is $1,080 you never had to spend.
Typical savings opportunity
$800 – $3,600
03
The F&I Room
The finance and insurance office generates more profit per deal than the entire sales floor. You've just spent two hours negotiating the price. You're tired, relieved, and ready to be done. The finance manager knows this. Extended warranties at three times market value, GAP insurance you can buy cheaper elsewhere, paint protection that costs the dealer almost nothing. Every product is presented in a sequence designed to move you from no to yes.
Typical savings opportunity
$500 – $2,500
04
Your Trade-In
Your trade has a real market value and a dealer offer. Those are almost always different numbers, and the dealer controls when and how the trade enters the conversation. Introduce it too early and it becomes a variable they use to recover ground on the purchase price. They know what your car will bring at auction. You don't. The sequence of that conversation matters as much as the numbers.
Typical savings opportunity
$1,000 – $3,000
05
Dealer Add-Ons
Before you sit down, your vehicle may already have $500 to $2,000 in dealer-installed products added to the price. Paint sealant applied with a consumer-grade buffer. Nitrogen tire fills. VIN etching. Door edge guards. These are presented as mandatory. They are not. On a lease, you pay interest on every one of them for the entire term. Knowing they are negotiable and being willing to say so can be free money.
Typical savings opportunity
$500 – $2,000
06
The Financing Rate
When you finance through the dealership, the lender gives the dealer a buy rate, which is the lowest rate your credit qualifies for. The dealer is permitted to mark that rate up and keep the difference. You are almost never told the buy rate. On a $40,000 loan over 60 months, one percentage point costs you approximately $1,000. Knowing your rate before you walk in changes the entire conversation in the finance office.
Typical savings opportunity
$500 – $2,000
Total potential savings across all six areas
$4,800 – $19,100
Not every deal has room in every category. But every deal has room somewhere. We know where to look.

Sound familiar?

If you've ever bought from Carmax or Carvana just to avoid the dealership, we get it.

Those companies exist because millions of people would rather pay more than negotiate. No judgment. The traditional dealership experience is genuinely exhausting and the outcome is never certain.

But no-haggle pricing doesn't mean fair pricing. It means convenient pricing. There's a real difference.

GetSorted gives you the convenience of Carmax with the deal you would get if you spent three weekends at dealerships. You tell us what you want. We handle everything. You show up for the keys knowing exactly what you paid and why it's fair.

Your situation

Where are you
right now?

You don't need to understand all of it. Just tell us where you are. We handle what comes next.

Situation 01
I'm getting into a new car.
New or used, lease or buy. You know what you want and you're ready to move. You just don't want to leave money on the table or spend three weekends at dealerships getting the runaround.
What's at stake
The gap between what you pay and what you should. On most vehicles across all six profit centers that can run $4,000 to $10,000.

Situation 02
My lease is ending and I'm not sure what to do.
Buy it out, return it, or roll into something new? The dealer is calling and making it sound simple. It isn't. Each path has its own math and the right answer depends on numbers most people never see.
What's at stake
Buyout price vs real market value, disposition fees, and whether that new lease offer is actually as good as it sounds.

Situation 03
I have a deal on the table and something feels off.
You've done the work, you have a number, but you're not sure it's real. Or you're about to sign and you want someone who knows this world to look at it before you commit. That instinct is worth following.
What's at stake
Hidden markups in the structure, F&I products you didn't ask for, or a great price quietly recovered somewhere else on the deal sheet.

Situation 04
I want to understand this before I walk in.
You're not ready to buy yet but you want to know what to watch out for, what questions to ask, and how to recognize a good deal when you see one. Knowledge is the whole game.
What's at stake
Walking in informed vs walking in blind is often the difference between a deal you feel good about and one you second-guess for years.

I thought I was a good negotiator. Then I saw what GetSorted got me on my X5 lease versus what I had agreed to. The money factor alone was costing me $80 a month. I had no idea that was even something you could push back on.

We were ready to sign and something felt off. GetSorted called within an hour. They had loaded $1,800 in accessories we never asked for and the trade was $1,400 below market. We walked out with a completely different deal.

Three dealers gave me the same runaround. GetSorted had a competitive deal within 48 hours. I never set foot in a showroom until the car was ready for pickup. That alone was worth it.

Who we are

Not a platform.
Not an algorithm.
A person.

GetSorted is based in Chicago and built on one belief: the car buying process is broken and most people deserve a better experience than what they're getting.

Our founder has bought and sold more than 30 cars and negotiated well over 100+ deals for friends and family members. He has bought in person, on-line and purchased sight unseen, participated as a buyer and seller at auctions both online and in person, and spent 30+ years watching how money moves through this industry. We know how dealers think because we've been on both sides of the desk. We love the process of buying a car. Most people hate it. We're here to fix that.

We started local because local matters. We know the Chicago market, we know which dealers move and which ones play games, and we're building the relationships that get our clients better access and better deals.
